As a user of the Hub, you have the option to join an organization or collect data as a freelancer.

Join an Organization

If you are monitoring with an organized group, you can find and join the organization. Once you've joined, the data you collect and post will be linked to that organization, and visible on the organization map and site list.

You can join an organization at two points: when creating your Clean Water Hub account or after you've created your account.

Join an organization when creating your account

New Clean Water Hub users will need to create an account by clicking "sign up" in the top right corner of the main page.

This will bring you to a sign in page, which asks for more information about you:

To join an organization, click on the 'Organization Name' field and begin typing the name of the organization you want to associate with. Click on the organization when it pops up.

If you start typing and your organization isn't in our system, click "submit it to Izaak Walton League" and fill out a form requesting that your organization be added.

Depending on your organization, you may need to be approved by a manager before your account is linked to the organization. You will see a "pending" notice until you have been approved by the manager. If you don't need approval, you can start adding data right away!

Join an organization after you've created your account

To join an organization after you've created your account, you'll need to search for the organization.

To find your organization/monitoring group, click "Explore Data" > "All Sites" at the top of the screen.

Scroll down and click on the "Organizations" tab. Search for your site by typing in its name on the organizations tab.

Click on your organization, and you'll be taken to the organization's page. Here you can see all of the sites monitored by that organization as well as information about that group. To join the organization, just hit the "Join Organization" button!

Do you have sites on the Clean Water Hub that you want to associate with the organization you just joined? That's easy to accomplish!

Freelancer Monitor

Monitoring on your own? If your account isn't linked to an organization, you will be automatically associated with the "Freelancer" organization. Being a Freelancer means you are monitoring on your own, following one of the protocols listed in the Hub. If the protocol you are using is not listed in the Hub yet, contact support! We are working to add more protocols to the Hub.
