The Clean Water Hub database displays volunteer-reported water quality data in a variety of maps. Let's talk about how to interact with these maps.

Accessing Maps

To access the Clean Water Hub's maps, begin by locating the "explore data" tab on the top menu bar.

Click on the "explore data" tab to view a list of the maps viewable on the Hub.

Click on one of these options to be taken to the selected data map.

More information on each of these maps (click to expand):

All Sites

Clicking "All Sites" will take you to a map of all of the data reported to the Clean Water Hub. This is also called the "Community Map."

The All Sites Map uses the following color coding system indicated via the legend (item A on the map above):

  • Purple sites: data reported at a site within the past year

  • Grey sites: most recent datapoint reported at a site is more than 1 year old

To navigate this interactive map, use the + and - symbols (item B on the map above) to zoom in and out. Click and drag the map with your cursor to reposition it. You may also type the name of a city, zip code, or nearby landmark into the search bar (item C). This will zoom in the map and center it upon the item you searched.
