Creek Critters is a benthic macroinvertebrate collection and identification app developed by the Audubon Naturalist Society and the Izaak Walton League of America. This easy-to-use app walks you step-by-step through the process of collecting and identifying the bugs in your stream!

Using a simplified collection protocol, anyone can discover what macroinvertebrates are living in their stream, and what they can tell us about stream health - no training required!

Once you've collected and identified some bugs, the app automatically calculates a "stream health score." That score also gets sent to the Clean Water Hub, where it can be shared with the national clean water community!

Creek Critters is free and available for both iOS and Android devices. Find out more and download the app today to become a Stream Explorer!
